SAD JOE

I received a latte machine last year for my birthday, and after several months of resisting making them myself I finally learned.  I have perfected my perfect cup of joe, just the way I like it, with a little foam on top, them some extra coffee dribbles.

So this morning I got up early and made myself a latte.  I set it on a table and started reading the morning news.  When I looked down my mug was turned around.  Staring up at me was a very sad face.

No, it wasn’t Jesus or Santa Claus.   Just a image of someone who seemed to know his destiny.  He was about to be consumed.   I showed my two sons, who were still sleepy tired.  They were convinced I conjured up the image but it was just as much of a surprise to me as it was to them.   So  “Mr. Joe” was enjoyed on a windy, blustery morning.

Later on in the morning my son was helping me download pictures on my computer, and as he grabbed my computer the coffee mug which had contained Mr. Joe was knocked from the table and endured another bad fate.  Gasp!

Now that’s a bad day.   I wonder if Mr. Joe showed up to help me out.  Maybe he took on some sorrow or helped me out of some  little irritations for the day.   I don’t know….I’m just glad I’m not Joe.
